MAKE it Happen

During the last week I have received calls, emails or tweets from a few people about Happy Friday, or thanking me for motivating them in some way.

One young man said Raeh what you are doing is amazing! I graciously accepted the compliment but I told him, it’s no different than what you are capable of.  We ALL have  the ability to inspire, motivate and help each other grow.  Some people either don’t have the confidence in themselves or the faith in God to just step out and make it happen.

I challenge you today, to MAKE it happen!  Like for real, real…..don’t worry about who will say what especially when you recognize a calling and a purpose to your dreams.  When you give yourself to your purpose TRUST ME, everything else you need will come.  God is only waiting on you.

I told the same man it would be an insult to God to do anything other than live a purposeful fulfilled life.  Think about it, He gave us ALL this life, ALL this breath, health, strength and the beauty in everything around us and we are bold enough to sit in the house like furniture sucking up TV for 30% of our life, working on someone else’s dreams for 30%, sleeping for another 30% only to half-way enjoy about 10%?

We are scared to “disappoint” tradition, family, friends….whomever, when the truth is, they aren’t doing  a whole lot to add value to our lives but we are willing to bet our entire life’s purpose and fulfillment on what they have to say or think.  If you look closely, you may recognize how silly that is.

Find your balance, yes, but LIVE your life purposely and passionately.  Do NOT insult HIM that gave it to you.

Happy Friday Yall!

AFTER PARTY

No question or quote today, but even better.  I’ve watched this video at least once every week for the last 6 months or so.  I’ve made a habit to study successful people and this video from Will Smith along with an outline of what he believes continues to remind me that I can do anything I want to.  No matter who says what or why.  It’s on me.

Watch, read and re-watch and re-read (yall should recognize #5 ;) because now…..it’s on YOU!

Will Smith\’s Secrets to Success

“I don’t want to be an icon. I want to be an idea. I want to represent possibilities.” – Will Smith

At the age of 21, Will Smith went to Hollywood with one goal in mind: to be the biggest movie star in the world. Today he reigns as one of the most powerful actors on the planet. In an interview with Tavis Smiley, Will shared the success secrets that catapulted him from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air to the blockbuster sensation that he is today. His accomplishments represent the possibilities that exist for us all. Take notes…

Five Success Secrets From Will Smith:

1. Decide who you’re gonna be. There’s a redemptive power that making a choice has rather than feeling like you’re an effect to all the things that are happening. Make a choice. Just decide what it’s gonna be, who you’re gonna be, how you are going to do it. Just decide. And from that point, the universe will get out of your way.

2. Create your own possibilities. I want to represent possibilities. I want to represent the idea that you really can make what you want. I believe that I can create whatever I want to create. If I could put my head on it right, study it, learn the patterns… I feel very strongly that we are who we choose to be.

3. Make lemonade out of life’s lemons. One of my favorite books is The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. I consider myself an alchemist. An alchemist is a mystical chemist, and one of the great feats that alchemist used to do is they would take a chunk of lead and turn lead into gold. I so connected to symbolically being able to turn lead into gold. My grandmother used to say, “When life gives you lemons you go ahead and make lemonade”…that’s alchemy.

4. Don’t be outworked. I will not be outworked. Period. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, you might be sexier than me. You might be all of those things…but if we get on the treadmill together—there are two things: you’re getting off first or I’m gonna die. It’s really that simple. You are not gonna outwork me. The guy who is willing to hustle the most is gonna be the guy who just gets that loose ball.

5. Stay ready. The majority of people who aren’t getting to places they want or are not achieving the things that they want in this business is strictly based on hustle. It’s strictly based on being out worked. It’s strictly based on missing crucial opportunities. If you stay ready, you ain’t got to get ready.
